Within the framework of the project, we documented 13 stories from the lives and about the lives of homeless people during the coronavirus pandemic on the streets of Ljubljana—about the changed and especially more difficult living conditions they found themselves in on the streets, which were a consequence of the measures adopted to contain the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as the impact and handling of the changes that occurred during the epidemic.
In addition to the homeless, we also included two episodes in the documentary series in which organizations such as Kralji Ulice (Kings of the Street), the Vincencijeva zveza dobrote Volunteer Association, the Ljubljana Homeless Shelter, and the Stigma Association for Harm Reduction due to Drugs were resolving and organizing their work with the homeless during the quarantine.
The project highlights contemporary challenges of homelessness, perspectives on optimizing the work of non-governmental organizations in particular, whose work is related to homelessness during the time of emergency measures due to the pandemic. It also presents experiences of unequal treatment of individuals in health centers, specifically the position and experiences of a homeless woman, addiction and stigmatization of the homeless, unregulated family circumstances that lead to homelessness, and other topics related to the lives of homeless people and homelessness in our country.
